Tanya Ishikawa is a University of Colorado-Boulder graduate, who started her career in public relations. She began writing for newspapers in 2000, at the Northglenn-Thornton Sentinel, Westminster Window, and Westsider. She became a Denver Urban Spectrum contributor in 2005, and since then, has been a managing editor, copy editor, video producer, and special projects and grant coordinator for DUS. Her writing has also appeared in the Montrose Mirror, The Watch, Boulder magazine, Telluride Style, Shelter magazine, and various newsletters and trade association publications. She is executive director of the Uncompaghre Watershed Partnership in Ouray County, Colorado.
